POKÉMON FISHING TIPS!

New info added on November 24th. Click here to see it.

There are lots of pages with tips on fishing in the safari zone but I've never seen any that say to go fish in the path to the Pokémon league. This page basically sums up to fish in the path to the Pokémon league and in the safari zone but I'll elaborate on it and put some nice graphics.

Route 12 The first thing you need for this trick is the Super Rod. You can get the Super Rod in the Sport Fishing Area in Route 12 as indicated on the picture on the left. To get there you'll need the PokéFlute because there's a Snorlax in the way. They'll be a house where you meet the Fishing Guru's Brother. Tell him you like to fish and he'll give you the Super Rod. Get the Super Rod

Route 22 Now that you've got the Super Rod you're ready to fish. First there's the path to the Pokémon league. That's on route 22, West of Viridian city. You'll need the Rainbow badge to get up to the water part where you can fish. In Red and Blue version if you fish there and you'll be able to catch some evolved water Pokémon at level 23. You can fight Kingler, Seadra, Seaking and Slowbro. In Yellow version it's even better. You can fight level 25 Poliwag (275 exp, no big catch) and level 30 Poliwhirl (561 exp, very good). So what's the point in doing all this? Well they give real good experience for their level. They're easy 'cause they're a low level but give good experience 'cause they're the highest evolved forms of their kind. It's a great place to get levels for electric or grass type Pokémon. It would also be a good idea to catch a Slowbro (in Red and Blue) to trade for a Lickitung. You need the Rainbow Badge

The next tip can also be found on many different pages. Fish in the Safari zone. There you'll hook Dratini, Krabby, Psyduck and Slowpoke all at level 15. This is the earliest place you can get Psyduck, the rulingest Pokémon in the sea. It's also the only place you can get Dratini without having to play the Slots. Safari Zone Fishing!

If you wanna do something wierd you can also fish in the heads of statues in some of the Gyms.
